SMF-AR

Active systems such as the SMF®-AR(sintered metal filter with self-sufficient thermoelectric regeneration) are often used for mobile machines and stationary applications with very different application profiles and exhaust gas temperatures that are often too low.

Modularity

The system has a modular design so that it can be integrated into a wide variety of applications with little effort. Depending on the installation situation and performance range, different system sizes and housing shapes can be selected from the extensive HJS product range.

With the SMF®-AR system, the exhaust gas is filtered until an optimum amount of soot has accumulated on the filter for regeneration. The system utilizes the positive properties of a fuel additive, which lowers the soot ignition temperature and increases the soot burn-off rate. The deposited soot can therefore be burned off independently in a regeneration process at an exhaust gas temperature of around 400 °C. If the necessary temperature is not reached, as is often the case in the low-load range, the system’s active regeneration support in the form of a thermoelectric heater is used.
