HJS exhaust system with active thermal management
Thanks to the combined use of particulate filters and nitrogen oxide technology (SCR), modern city buses offer the highest level
of exhaust gas purification. However, buses in inner-city traffic often do not reach the temperature required for the SCR catalytic converter to function optimally.
Vehicle manufacturers therefore only meet the stringent requirements of the Euro VI emissions standard through the use of engine thermal management.
HJS transfers this concept as a self-sufficient system architecture to the retrofitting of existing vehicles. The HJS exhaust system with active thermal management (SCRT® TM) for public transport uses two networked actuators to ensure that the systems offer the best possible reduction performance under all ambient conditions, even at low load in stop & go operation and at the bus stop – without affecting the engine.
The HJS SCRT® TM system thus reduces the harmful
nitrogen oxide emissions of diesel engines by over 90%, even in demanding real-world operation.
